Title: Emotional intelligence and its relationship to self-regulation among Arab Students at Haifa University

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the relationship between emotional intelligence and self-regulation among Arab students at Haifa University. An accessible sample of (918) male and female Arab students was selected at the University of Haifa for the academic year 2020/2021. To achieve the objectives of the study, the emotional intelligence scale and the self-organization scale were developed, and after checking their validity and consistency, they were applied to the sample members.

The results of the study showed that the level of emotional intelligence was high except in the field (non-verbal emotions of others) and that the level of self-regulation was also high. The results showed a statistically significant difference in the level of emotional intelligence, attributed to the gender variable in favor of females, and the marital status variable in favor of single women. While there was no statistically significant difference in the level of emotional intelligence depending on the variables of academic specialization and place of residence. The results also showed a statistically significant difference in the level of self-regulation due to the gender variable in the fields of (entrepreneurship, goal setting, adjustment, and motivation), in favor of males in the fields of (self-management, and alertness). Finally, the results showed a positive correlation between emotional intelligence and organization Self reached (0.633).
