Title: Issues in assessment of symptom validity

Abstract

Symptom validation testing is commonly used to ascertain eligibility for insurance benefits, in cases of accident or disability. Results are commonly accepted, without sufficient understanding of confounding or biasing factors. The current paper discusses these issues, with particular reference to some commonly used measures, such as Green?s Test.
